The Muni Improvement Fund (MIF)
The
MIF was established
in 1996 in the Memorandum of Understanding between the City and County
of San Francisco and Transport Workers Union Local 250-A. The MIF seeks
to improve customer service and foster the health and safety of Muni
employees by:

Giving
employees the tools they need to more efficiently manage the stress
they face on the job - skills in communications, conflict resolution,
cultural diversity and team-building;

Helping
Muni develop a "culture of teamwork", encouraging employee
input and resolution of problems at the divisions;

Improving
relationships between riders and operators by encouraging more frequent
and effective communication; and

Creating
programs to improve health and wellness for Muni employees.
