Program Update

The San Francisco Transit Career Ladder Partnership brings together SF Muni and Muni’s five largest unions under the umbrella of the Muni Improvement Fund. With state $500,000 of funding beginning in June 2002, the Partnership worked with City College of San Francisco to develop curriculum based on an analysis of needed skills. Through June 2003 a total of 268 Muni employees had taken 11 different courses totaling 3,284 classroom hours. Courses offered for the SF Partnership range from basic skills through computers and technical report writing to supervisory skills and labor-management relations.
